When Gracie saw the skates, she said boots then daddy's boots and was really excited. She tried standing up for the first time and plop, almost fell over. She then stayed on the bench next to me, while I laced my skates up. Then it was time for the lesson, drumroll please. It turns out, Gracie did pretty well for her first time on skates! Sasha our instructor from Russia (did you think we would have an ice skating instructor from anywhere else?) was really great with the kids and gave Gracie a crate to hold onto while skating. Gracie loved chasing the bubbles around that he blew for them to try and catch and she liked the ice in general.
At the end of the lesson, she was able to walk back to the lockers without holding my hand. Do we have a future Michelle Kwon on our hands, hee, hee? Oh, I didn't do so badly myself and was actually able to get a couple pictures AND video! I didn't even need the crate either. :)
Patiently waiting for her lesson
On the ice learning how to get up if we fall. Mommy needed this lesson more than Gracie!

Ok, that is adorable!! I had no idea they made skates small enough to fit the girls. I totally want to try that. What skating rink did you go to. I know there is on in West Covina and when I was a little girl I use to skate there- I had the skates and bag and little frilly outfit-- I loved skating!! Anyway, great pics and it looks like Gracie loved it!!
