Referral Day

Two years ago today, I saw my baby's picture for the first time. I never thought the day would come when I could say that I had a son or daughter. I always thought it would never happen for me. I was very nervous and excited when we received our referral and the moment Jerry and I opened the email which I still have saved, I instantly fell in love. I was so excited to share the news with my family and friends and couldn't wait to go to China. I brought Gracie's picture everywhere, even the dentist and had it at my bedside every night before I went to sleep. Even now when we are cuddling or I am reading Gracie a story, I give her an extra squeeze when I think of long ago when I had only a picture to keep me through before she was in my arms.
